Branching out

Surround yourself with the type of people you would most like to be like.  Fortunately, I find myself these days, surrounded by people with the biggest entrepreneurial spirits, their energy is palpable and mindset is contagious.

My wheels for e.s.p.oused are constantly turning, but now, I find myself looking at every situation I am in as a business opportunity.  I have bought about 15 domains, I have 3 different branches of e.s.p.oused I am working on, and 2 new websites i am creating.  Obviously all of these projects won't take flight, but just the momentum of creating and building-  something is bound to stick, no?

To that end-  I present to you some of the music video production work we have tackled.  Taking on set design, wardrobe, prop sourcing, et scouting, hair, makeup, choreography- it has really opened up our eyes as to the possibilities of where a producer is needed.

Both videos are directed by the talented Jon Kilmer and take on two very different vibes.  In Good Girl, the goal was to have a fun playful, grown up sleep over feel.  Hyper color, glitter, girly.   In Bounce, we went for grit.  A throw back to early 90's rap, we pulled moves, makeup tips, and wardrobe ideas from classics like MC Hammer, Kris Cross, and Salt n Peppa.  Sourcing the wardrobe was hard, but taking a trip back to a simpler time where hair was big and fashion was looking your worst.

We look forward to doing more of this work.  Its long and hard days, but a ton of fun.

Sweet Baby Jesus. We can turn water into wine now!!

Thanks to the magnificent minds of land and technology over in Silicon Valley, we are now introduced to a product that will literally turn water into wine.  I have never contributed to a Kickstarter before, but this one seems TOTALLY worth it.  Think about the hundreds (or thousands, for some people ;o) ) of dollars you will save a year not having to buy that sweet, sweet boozy nectar?!  Oh, lets not forget, it can all be controlled by an app on your iphone.  Wine on demand.  yup.  Thank you technology and science, for making me one step closer to being a God!

Mercury in Retrograde; How to cope with losing your damn mind

It's so easy, especially when you are living in a city like NYC, to allow yourself to get wound up so tight, that by Friday you are one wrong look away from losing your shit.

Let's forget about mercury this week and how it decided to be in retrograde (whatever that means). This week was touch and go for lots of humanoids.

At times like these, I look to 4 things to help me try and re-harness any semblance of stable human behavior I once had.

1) A sick workout to ensure I don't hurt anything living or break something in my apt building since they still hold a hefty security deposit over my head with their power hungry paws.

2) Meditation and/or pampering of some sort. This week it was an hour long, passed out, drooling nap sesh to Enya whilst getting my lashes did.

3) The Boyfriend mood stabilizer. Even though his breathing this week made me want to chop him in the throat, just one look into his Baby Poos, (what I call his gorge brown eyes), and it's as if all is right with the world again and perspective is regained.  Crying over a button falling off my duvet is not only ridiculous, but unacceptable for an adult.

And lastly, my new favorite,

4 )The Little Grizz. My niece, Emma is the truest pint sized chill pill. Hanging out with her is all I need to allow me to end my week on a high instead of a  lunatic one.

Baby's first blog post

I may or may not have been told, (definitely told), I (over) expose my thoughts, images, and general moment-to-moment updates on social media... I accept that constructive criticism and this is my solution. I thought this whole blog thing may be a more intellectually sound way of me constantly speaking my mind.

When given a huge blank canvas to write and post images, I am starting to think it will have an adverse effect on my "post vomit" mentality.  I am used to being confined by a number of characters, length of video, or image size.  Living my life here in blog land may be good for me. Instead of wanting to post everything, I think this may teach me the lesson of being more intentional with my posts and make each one really count... or maybe not :o)

Topic of the day is that I've been stupid inspired lately.  Even after logging 10 hours at my "day job", creatively and entrepreneurially, (just made up a word...boom), my brain just wont quit.  Throwing down another 6 hrs on the e.s.p.oused payroll is nothing.  There is a lot of new crappola on the frontier for e.s.p.oused events and I'm jazzed to share it.

Besides creating a whole other level of website for myself, I have really stepped up my business card game, and just finished designing a pamphlet that is just maj, if you ask me or Rachel Zoe.

Anyway- not sure how to end these things, so lets just say until next time.

#sneakpeak of the goods.  Guess I have to start unhashtagging when I write and speak now.
